| PM Dahal attends President Bush reception - Sep 23, 2008 |
Kathmandu NewsLine: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal attended a reception hosted by US President George W. Bush and Mrs Laura Bush in honour of the Heads of Delegation and spouses in recognition of the sixty-third session of United Nations General Assembly Monday evening in New York. The statement issued by Nepal mission in New York however does not state anything on if PM Dahal held talks with President Bush on the occasion. PM Dahal is leading a Nepali delegation to United Nations General Assembly. He arrived at New York Monday and was received at the airport by the Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN, Madhu Raman Acharya and Geeta Acharya. Ambassador of Nepal to the United States Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise and officials of the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, PM Dahal, who reached the US via Germany, also held meeting with Nepalis there. Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) Germany held an interaction with PM Dahal at a luncheon programme held by Nepali Ambassador to Germany Dr. Madan Kumar Bhattarai Sunday. During the programme, NRN-Germany briefed Prime Minister Dahal on the top agendas of NRNA such as dual citizenship, refugee problems, and citizenship for children according to mother's name and long term visa for NRNs of foreign passport holders, the NRN statement reads. |
